Slaty-backed Forktail
Cegar Tengkuk Kelabu – Enicurus schistaceus

Description:
25 cm. From the much rarer lowland Chestnut-naped Forktail by slaty-grey (not brown) mantle and pure white (not mottled black) breast.
Habits:
One of the star birds of Fraser’s Hill. A lower montane specialist, it feeds on the ground near forest streams. Always found in the Jeriau Waterfall area, also along the Old Gap road, almost down to the lower gate. Shy and restless; listen for the metallic piping call to locate it.
