Frank
Hemmant’s fruits of labor coupled with the continual
encouragement and assistance from his friends, C.W.A
Sennet, The District Officer of Raub (1921-1922) and
one J.S MacPherson (1922-1925) paid-off well. Today,
the nine-hole gold course is one of the best highland
courses in the country, with narrow fairways rimmed
by lofty pine trees and in some parts by vertical
cliffs, and the rolling greens, providing unending
challenges to seasoned golfers and beginners alike.
The trail is about
one kilometer long, stretching from the Nature Education
Centre (NEC) and the mosque at Genting Road to the
junction connecting Lady Maxwell Road and Valley Road,
immediately below the double-storey Victory Bungalow
(now completely uninhabitable and rumored to be haunted!).
Starting from the junction below Victory Bungalow,
the trail leads down to the sheer cliff bordering
the seventh fairway of the golf course and continues
through the thick foliage along the eighth green before
connecting Genting Road just below the NEC and the
mosque. |
