A physically challenging path with steep slopes
and undulations.
The Pine Tree Trail was opened in the early days by
the British to gain access to a mountain peak that
commanded a majestic view of Fraser’s Hill and
the surrounding summits. The summit, The Pine Tree
Hill, at 1505 meters above sea level derives its name
from five old stag-headed endemic conifer species
of dacrydiums. Today, with increasing deforestation
causing temperatures to rise in the highlands, there
remains only one Dacrydium comosum at the summit of
Pine Tree Hill. |
